Even though your PD is current now it is almost like at the end of the line at 2006. I doubt that your GC will come soon in August - Sep timeframe unless you get real lucky ( with USCIS you never know ).
EB2 jumped two years for the Aug bulletin because DOS wants USCIS to utilize all the visa numbers. There is a high probability that it will retrogress to 2004 or maybe 2005 in October and then move as per visa availability.
I didn't want to sound pessimistic just realistic.
The only option I see is what has already been told above - H1 / H4

also I read few months back that out of some 70K SWITCH ppl in usa, they filed GC for less than 100 employees. Do you think only 100 out of some 70K H1B wanted GC??? Another proof that they do not want their employees to move ahead.
Where did you get this stat? It is BS. My company itself processed more than 1000 GCs last two years. To manage the perm load, we had to hire extra paralegal staff apart from distributing PERM applications to more than 3 law firms.
And do you know that many folks who got GC from our company did not resign within 2 years of getting GC. They are highly motivated and achievers.
Amongst SWITCH there are some companies which do not sponsor GC as a policy. I am not denying that. But that doesnt mean that they are wrong.

What I am finding is, there are not enough people to do the really complicated stuff. Because of demand and supply the salaries are going up for folks that do specialized tech work( say OS Kernel development).
Then again, nothing in this world is too difficult, so lot of this stuff is getting pushed out to development teams outside of the US, where it's cheaper to get it done. The only downside is the ramp up time.
There is a critical point when it becomes too expensive to hire anyone in the US and the folks elsewhere are sufficiently ramped up, at that point we can thank all those who are against employment based immigration and find an alternate career :)
It is also obvious that the current graduates are more reluctant to take up jobs in US or stay here for a long time due to the following:
1. Messy GC process as more students are becoming aware of the situation
2. Ability to work freely in a competitive environment
3. Boom in their home country (India and China) [A survey shows that majority of foreign students are from these countries]
4. Ability to start at higher levels over there compared to start up jobs over here
5. Can stay with family
In our team, we are trying to hire 3 full time employees in west cost with specific skill set and could not succeed for the past 6 months :( One of my friend who is leading a team, recently want to expand his team had a similar issue. He finally setup an office in India and recruited people over there.
These trends clearly indicate that US is loosing clear competitive advantage and more jobs are moving off-shore.
If for some reason I move back to India, I am sure that I will be taking away as many as 10 jobs along with me as well :)

As a precursor to abolishing labor substitution next year, USCIS is increasing its scrutiny of substituted labor. Also there is rampant fraud in labor substituions.
I was reading somewhere that USCIS rejection rate of labor sub is 85% higher than in orginal labor. That is a significant percentage, if you ask me. Make your own decision but be very wary of promises.

I recently moved to Houston TX for a new job on EAD and got a vertical driving license which is valid till 2015 but there is a line printed on it "Temporary visitor status expires july 2010" which is expirary date of my EAD card...
I think I will have to go to DMV again after getting new EAD card in 2010 to revalidate the new date

Not just sued but assembly line whupped by federal judges. :D And the new Attorney General can't take it any more.
The truest gem is this other line: "In the unlikely event that DHS receives actionable information after the application is approved, it will initiate removal proceedings."
So all they were waiting for these unlikely events to happen while they kept hundreds of thousands of applicants in the deep freeze at USCIS?!
