There has to be reason why greencard holder been deported likely due to some illegal act. Here we are law abiding resident waiting for our legal status in legal ways.

We filed our AOS, EAD and AP on Aug 13th at NSC. We are from Santa Clara county in california. I heard that people from santa clara are getting FP's very late?
We have got our Receipts on Sept 30 and EAD on Oct 28th. No FP and AP yet.
My question is how to create service request?
We are planning out of country. Just waiting for this FP to be done.
Can we postpone FP for a specific period of time?

you can get medicals in 2 hours.
Not sure if this is chicago/pittsburgh.
your only option is to find out by calling all numbers in chicago and pittsburgs.
People have flown in from various locations into chicago and got medicals in 2 hours.
also, ask your wife to get the immunization record of mmr and tetanus.
that will make your life easier.
x-ray is mandatory.

enggr ran away. He faked his experience(which most of the people do, I think to get GC) and tried to get EB2. Good and Inteligent IO catched it and sent RFE. Ran away for life.

Apart from the French language and referendum threat, are there any other downsides for Montreal? I guess the reason I seem to be fixated is that I think if I am going to make this change I might as well change the life setting to somewhat more European (in terms of architecture and the environment overall) as I am getting tired of American setting some times. So Montreal sounds more European in that sense. I do however, have a wife and kids and not sure if that makes a difference in the choice of destination as oppose to being a single migrant. Any differences in terms of education quality or family friendly policies between Ontario and Quebec?

International students come on F1 visa and get instate tuition fee from state universities. Our kids are on H4s so that will not qualify them to attend undergraduate in state schools? F-1 students do not enjoy any more privileges than H-4 applicants. In fact, you may like to check with the university authorities, for H-4 students pay in-state tuition if other requirements are fulfilled. Things like residency for a period of time, employment of guardians, etc.

However, the situation may vary from univ to univ and state to state. My knowledge is limited to Georgia, and specifically Georgia Tech, GSU and UGA

Even if PD is not current, I believe you can convert CP to AOS. Check Murthy website or talk to them.
If this cannot happen for you then you should look for a change towards this provision.
But EAD & AP fro CP is not going to fly administratively. As others have stated it is contradictory.

GC and Citizenship should not prevent anyone from pursuing their career and personal dreams - if not US - there are other countries where your skills would be welcome. Personally - i have given priority to career and family life ahead of visa issues and rest has automatically fallen into place

Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about go to the rally, actions items, I've reading a lot of guys saying dont ask for your receipt status, dont waste your time etc, etc.
Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?

Initially I too got the same doubt that it could be a prank from my friend. But the name of the person who called me matches with the name of the person who visited my employer's office around 2 months back. After I got a call from ICE officer, I notified the same to my employer and explained about the call.
Really donno what to do.... Even though the ICE officer took prior appointment for visiting me, should I still contact attorney?

i was in a similar situation about this with a priority date of Jan '06.. i was planning to get married in dec 2009.. but my dates were current and fearing that I might get my GC soon, I rushed to Australia (my fiancee is AUS citizen) and got a registered marriage done... she is still in aus and planning to join me later using following-to-join when i do get gc.. unfortunately, I did not get my GC when the dates were current in Aug or Sep...
but, i dont know how to advice you.. it is a very sticky situation... i think best option is to do H1B, and before that to try and get some visitor visa... my lawyer says there is a 50% chance for one to get H1B if you apply on April 1st.. and almost 0% chance if you apply after April 1st...
oooh another option that i thought out, during my stressful thinking days about this, was that the H1B quota is not valid for certain jobs.. like doctors, and also if you work in like non-profit orgs and stuff... try to explore that.. this means that ur wife can get H1B right away...

I am a bit confused now, are you in your 5th year extension?.. In which year did your H1 expire?.

Assuming: 140 approved and 485 filed.
Now if you use ac21 with h1, you would only get 2 yrs of extension and there after only 1 yr. (attorney said, if you have 140 approved you get 3 yrs extenion. but once you file your 485, you get the remaining time of 6 yrs or if you are in your 6th year, then you get 1 yrs extension).
Hope this answers most of the quesitons.
