:confused: I found the information regarding both the senate and house bills on AILA's website. From my understanding, they are going to attach this version of the bill...hopefully, without any changes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Thats a good analysis. As you noted EB-2 India got only 14K visas as opposed to other predictions of 30-32K visas. I have long said that the variable here is how EB1 and EB-2 ROW demand numbers. A lot of folks assumed that all the spill over will end up in the EB-2 I/C lap. It does not as long as there is no retrogression across the entire EB-2 category severely, making the old PD golden (this is not going to happen) or there is very less demand for EB1 and EB2-ROW numbers.
While I agree with your analysis, I feel that the number of employers/applicants filing for Labor/140/485 has started a downward spiral in 2008. This means lesser demand for EB1 and EB-2 ROW numbers making the numbers available to EB-2 I & C. Again, it is very well possible that there are just enough number of people from both Eb1 & EB-2 ROW categories left & entering in the system to deny the numbers to EB-2 I & C. Unless the state of the economy continues like this, shedding 600K jobs in one month, equal to number jobs in the state of Maine, we can't say that EB-2 I & C can become close to current or leap into 2007 and beyond. Then we might be current and have a GC but the economic situation would be so worse that people don't care for GC. God Forbid we have to see that and lets hope and pray that the Stimulus will resuscitate the economy

We got FP notices for me & my wife on 01-25-08. Finger printing date is Feb 6th, 2008. Same date, same time for both of us. Just perfect!
We filed our I-485 application/EAD/AP on July 6th, 2007.
Ours is a transferred case (NSS-CSC-NSC).
Did not open any service request.
Looks like they started processing transferred cases.
People who have been waiting should be getting their FP notices now.

on friday when i went for my code 2 fingerprinting for my ead, i was the only one there for greencard/ead type biometrics.
everyone else, atleast 50-80 people were there at the same time for their N-400 (citizenship) biometrics.
i think they are processing the citizenship applications with full speed to lower the 18 month processing timeframe. everyone over there was a pre July 31st filer, when the citizenship fees increase took place.

Call your senator and explain your situation. I have done so in the past after I lost all papers. I have received drivers license on the basis of only photo copies.
I just got back from a lengthy fight with my local and state DMV offices to convince them I'm legal to continue having a drivers license. I'm EB, in the adjustment of status stage since July 2007. DMV asked me recently for proof for status check. I took the pending I-485 receipt and while they told me it is an acceptable proof, they said they have a rule that if the document has no expiration date, they can only give you a driver license with validity 6 months beyond the receipt date of your document (with the wild assumption that any I-485 application is approved or denied within 6 months)
I have nothing against local government and their agencies enforcing immigration, but if you won't give your staff the necessary training to comprehend what legal immigration status is then it will be a disaster

I have never thought about slogans. Will keep that in mind. What is the deadline?
We need a slogan that mentions H1B's contribution to Social Security. I have not been able to find an article that mentions it. There are lot articles that mention undocumented workers contribution in billions. Just imagine how much we must have contributed and NO ONE mentions it

As IV grows maybe this is a help IV can extend to all its donor members and help them if they get in such extreme distress situations. This is one of the ideas we are thinking for our members in the donor group.
I absolutely support this idea, hopefully this would strengthen the donor base as well and encourage people to come out and help themselves..

BTW, can you call and ask if you case is preadjudicated. In our case my #@$@ lawyer refuses call USCIS or allow us to initiate an SR (one of the reasons why we had no idea that we were stuck in namecheck)

We cannot expect any movement because we have ~25k EB3's ready for approval with only 3-4k visas. Eb2's (I)could be in a slightly better situation by July '10 because of spillover from unused EB1's and EB2's. I am guessing that 12-15k EB 2's will benefit. The only sliver lining is that ROW's who had visa's available but were stuck due to processing delays will be relieved from the pain.
As per this everyone who got pre-adjudicated would be receiving their GC in FY2010. But, there are people from EB3I with PD as late as 2007 who got RFEs recently and got their cases pre-adjudicated( I am one of them even though my PD is March 2003 and when I called up NSC, they said my case was pre-adjudicated and waiting for a Visa number ).
With EB3I staying at 1 Nov 2001 when the new FY2010 quota starts in October doesnt match to what Ron Gotcher says.
Anyone have any opinion?
