They've already said to give them until Aug 1st for June filers. Then they will focus on July filers. Simple as that. If your checks aren't cashed by Aug 1/2 for a June filer, then perhaps you have reason to call. If your checks are cashed, then YOU'RE IN, no need to call. Whatever you need is in the mail. If you don't get it by frst week of august, then call.

more recently, they took 2 days (not even working days) to APPROVE 25000 AOS applications, how hard do you think it is for them to issue receipts ? :)

Our goal from these meetings is simple: to get the issue on the radar.
Remember usually when lawmakers/lawmaker district office staff hear "immigration" they think "illegal immigration." Our presentation is usually the beginning of their education -- we have no expectation that they have "deep" or any knowledge of the nitty gritty.
All we want is that they send our material to their Immigration aide in DC, and recognize that there is an issue out there.
BTW, sbdol what volunteer team are you on?

Initially I too got the same doubt that it could be a prank from my friend. But the name of the person who called me matches with the name of the person who visited my employer's office around 2 months back. After I got a call from ICE officer, I notified the same to my employer and explained about the call.
Really donno what to do.... Even though the ICE officer took prior appointment for visiting me, should I still contact attorney?

not "most"!! only few have a wait of 3-4 years, most have a wait of over a decade....the numbers of applications pending at AOS stage at USCIS is scaryLook at the number of people who posted messages to this thread .... even if you say 4 times that number of people posted messages to WhiteHouse.gov it is no where close to the numbers we need .... Lets not kid ourselves - Unless there is a miracle - most of us are looking at aleast another 3-4 year wait :(

I wonder what our children and grandchildren will learn from all these. When they grow up and know that their parents had to go through this mess while waiting to be accepted legally for xxxx number of years and some people got the "grand reward" of being illegal for many years!! These CIRcus operators will be responsible for the loss of "very little" moral left in this country. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

As you say that the illegal immigrant lobby gets hundreds of thousands of dollars per month. Do you think any illegal immigrant is contributing this money. They work for minimum wages and have hardly any money to spare.
I think most of the money comes from businesses that employ these people to cut costs.
Yes true, the hispanic groups is also about 50 million in size. I'm sure these businesses are breaking some law in funding, besides employment.
There are large organizations that support our cause too, especially IT. They played a big part in positive H1 reform. Not sure if they were approached or they work independently.
It looks like were averaging $0.05 per IV member though.
I find it hard to believe we don't have 2000 H-1s willing to contribute $25 a month
do people expect 40-50 persons to fund IV for campaigns that can benefit 45,000 members, as they watch from the sidelines?
Another point I think is that even if IV had a couple of million dollars I don't think it will be able to pursuade the Congress to pass any legislation to bring relief to legal immigrants .
I will defer that to core group & Donor Forum, but IV has acheived a lot of things as posted earlier, part of it through active lobby groups and political experts.

Both your job descriptions say design develop and test applications using Win32 API and MFC (among other things) .... tell me why you are worried again...? :-)
It is similar. The key words are "Design, develop, test .....maintain.... etc.." Look up the O*net code for 15-1031.00 - Your L/C will state this occupational code. This has a broad classification.

I never received a transfer notice from NSC, however my wife received a transfer notice long back (some time in Sep')

its a really good discussion, thanks to all people who have provided valuable information. I am a Consultant throughout my career and never lead a team but now planning to change gears and move into project management. When I goolged about the requirement to take the exam, Lot of PMP training institutes came up and they are charging about $2000 for training and they say its a 5 day course, guarantee to pass bhla bhla .... My first question is it required to take these training classes? if not how to become eligible for to take the exam, Please advice.

only reason USCIS can afford to do it is becoz they are not accountable (As we are not a vote bank)...
But with IV on our side, we can make them streamline their procedures and work efficiently - whcih has never been a priority.

If you are chosen and pass the first screening, when they ask for documents you are also sending application fee that is around 500$. And GC is still not guranteed if the chosen applicant cannot persuade IO he will settle successfully. You need to show the ties, someone to help you with the job, show the moneys for the first few months, etc etc..
I personally know several people who were refused based on their family size and that they would be below poverty line if they immigrate into US.
Go figure!

My husband did his PMP Certification on his own.. he used a couple of pmi guides that he bought from amazon.com in addition to the PMBOK book. he worked on this certification for 3 to 4 months and passed it. It is possible. It is quite useful according to him if you want to lead teams. No need to spend money on this training.

My EB2 was rejected initially but later approved due to Sheila's evalaution of my CA degree equivalent to master's degree. I did not know her but my lawyer insisted to get it done through her. She was good for me.
