Here are details of my interview:
VO: what do you do?
I: Software engineer.
VO: How many employees in your company?
I: 20-25
VO: I see your english is not good. How will you be able to do your job?
I: You are the first person to tell me in last 4 years that I cant do my job due to poor english.
[At this point I was ticked off]
VO: How long did you work for last employer?
I: 18 months
VO: How many employees in previous company?
I: 150
VO: How many Indians?
I: I dont know. Ask the employer.
VO: Is this company owned by Indians?
I: I dont ask my boss his citizenship status.
VO: Have you worked with them before?
I: Yes, I am here just to revalidate my visa.
VO: Why you are working for a small company?
I: My preference.
VO: How much salary do you earn?
I: XYZ USD per annum.
VO: Thank you very much sir, your visa is approved.
Didnt bother to thank her, just turned my back and walked away. Visa came by mail.

Initially I too got the same doubt that it could be a prank from my friend. But the name of the person who called me matches with the name of the person who visited my employer's office around 2 months back. After I got a call from ICE officer, I notified the same to my employer and explained about the call.
Really donno what to do.... Even though the ICE officer took prior appointment for visiting me, should I still contact attorney?
Never heard of this before...are you by any chance employee of any of the companies named in H1B visa fraud last week?

I have my TX license till 06-2013. With the new rules, I heard that DMV's in Dallas are issuing vertical cards which has an expiration date of EAD/H1b expiry date. I recently moved to a new apartment. When i try to change the address online it is asking me to go the nearest DMV. I dont want to loose my current license which has expiry till 2013. Is it OK if i dont change my new address on my drivers license or is there a way to get my new card with the old expiration date. my current EAD expires on 10/2009.

You can bring UP TO 4 spouses on H4 visa. That's why it is called H4. Similarly on F2, you can only bring 2 spouses, Ah...students do not make that kind of money to support more than 2 spouses. USCIS thinks so much about us.

Can everybody please let us know how much money you have spent so far to file 485. We have contacted reporter and she need more information from us.
Please do this asap.
Just put total amount you have spent for 485 like Medical cost, attorney fees, mail service, birth certificate, cancelling your planned trip , photos and so on.

Yeah that sucks. I have a 2004 PD as well but was lucky to get out of PBEC in Jan 2007 and was able to apply for 485 in July.
I feel for people like you who have older PDs (2001 to 2004) and missed the July-Aug window.
It is unfair that some people with recent PDs (even 2007 PDs) got to apply for 485.
Hope something works out for all old timers.
Same situation here too. My husband came to this country in 1999. Filed for greencard in 2004. Labor was sent to philly BEC and it got cleared in September 2007 so we too missed the window too. Not sure what to do

Hi all,
Mine is a different situation, i was with my employer till mid of last year and did not inform him while leaving his company and joined another job (h1 transfer) he is now saying that the vendor did not pay him some money and i have to pay that amount and he is demanding that amount for my W-2.
He also said that he would take legal action if i didnot pay his losses ( i did not sign any document with him other than my h1b papers) no agreements,
I am going to call IRS after feb15, but is he going to go to court?
Please suggest me.

Today I got a call from an officer in "immigration and customs enforcement" asking for an appointment to visit my residence for checing my immigration status.
I am on H1B visa.
I would appreciate if someone could give any sort of information related to calling for a home visit.

This is the most bizarre thing I ever heard w.r.to immigration. Usually the IO schedules an interview at one of the local offices or at one of the CBP (Customs and Border Patrol) offices. Atleast in San Francisco, both USCIS and CBP offices are located in the same building.
