it looks like it was a "hoax" or mistake on their part.
my exp. has been that they are usually don't go for a "NO SHOW".
I too thought that it could be a hoax call. But When I discussed with my employer and came to know the name of the person who called me is same as that of person who visited our employer 2 months back, then I realized that it is not a hoax call.
But I really don't understand what was the purpose and why I got such call and why he did not show up. Till now there is no communication from the officer.

Only reason I am taking PMP course is because my company provides assistance in fees if its related to my project or helpful to company growth.
I really preferred to do MBA from college instead of PMP but due to company policy had to stick with PMP.

hey Dhundhun and everybody else.... thanks for ur precious advice. This forum is really helpful for people like me who do not have much experience with US rules.
Dhundhun, to answer your question...no I do not intend to break the contract. I just want to protect myself from any mishap in future. By the way as I mentioned earlier, the contract is not of 12 months....its for ENDLESS time. It says that if I leave the company anytime...I will need to refund all the training costs that the company would of incurred in last 12 months.

good thing here is, LS is no more possible.. we should be happy about it.
I have never met someone on LS... but I can assure you, if I ever find one of them, I will report USCIS and other authorities.. that is for sure.

Take Infopass appointment to relieve your anxiety little bit . I took infopass on Aug 8 to know what is happening to my I-485
What do you say about your problem when you take InfoPass. You can't take an appointment to just ask what is happening to your case, unless several months have passed after all sorts of dates.

In fact, I got laid off recently, my LC gone, which was filed on Sep,2004. I am looking for job again on my 8th year H1B extension. In this uncertain future it is better to return home for me.
I was in similar situation last year, I got layed off after working for 5 years in same company and was on my 6th year h1b with eb3 L/C pending in BEC. I switched to consulting immediately and got extension based on the old L/C and applied for new GC.
These are situations that are not under our control. We must live with these FOL

My wife's EAD renewal was e-filed with a receipt date of june 6 th, almost 120 days, still waiting. Got biometric notice for july 1st and finished it.After 94 days called 1-800 to request expediting the case on sep. 11 th, they sent a RFE asking for I-94 copies and stating biometrics were not transmitted to them and needed information on that, along with enlarged copy of photo ID.
Responded to RFE with a receipt date of sep. 25 th and no updates till day.
Called on 9/3 asnd raised a 2nd SR for expediting. AS her EAD expired on oct.1st and was given 1 week to produce new EAD by oct 10 th by her employer.
WE were hoping for some miracle by monday:confused:

You can't. No lawyer will do so as this is fraud. If uscis is able to track it down, ie: they kept the envelope, then such a person is in trouble.
You think they will go thru thousands of applications and check the tracking number? Besides I don't think they keep the original mailing envelope. So I think asking us to keep the tracking number is just BS.
USCIS is already making contradictory statements. First they release an update that they have processed all applications mailed before July 1 but when I call customer service and tell them that my application was mailed on June 11th, they say wait for 90 days.

Case transfered to NBC - Dec 2nd 2007 (me & spouse)
Case status changed to interview - Dec 4th 2007 (me & spouse)
Preliminary process complete USPS mail - Dec 4th 2007 (me & spouse)
Case pending at the USCIS office transferred to email - 02/12/2009 (me & spouse)
RFE - 02/13/2009 (me & spouse)
Soft LUD - 02/17/2009 <------ (me & spouse) (here is where i think the RFE notices are being printed today and will be mailed - we should probably get them by this Friday 2/20)

I am trying to keep track of 2004 cases. I think USCIS is not doing fair justice by not giving preference to 2004 cases. Please post your priority date, I-140 approval dates(if approved), I-485 received dates, Name check cleared date(if cleared), finger print cleared date(if you gave finger prints and they got cleared)

BUt keep in mind that when you enroll in a GROUP insurance which is typically your new insruance with you new company..most of the companies DONT have any restrictions on the pre existing condnitions, per my experience.
however if you buy a individual pocliy they will unload on you a TON of restrictions...no wonder why we see many old people working in Walmart and other places just for insurance..God save us when we get old :)
