I've had both kinds of accounts for years
NRE - you can only deposit funds from abroad, but cannot deposit funds into it from India. Havent repatriated back - so not so sure abt those rules
NRO - you can deposit funds from abroad & any money you receive in India - eg. if u get rent, or your PPF money etc. Bank will also deduct TDS on the interest you earn in this account. Not so with NRE. Legally, when you leave India, if you do not close your accounts, you shd change the status of ur existing a/c to NRO.
As far as the issue being faced by OP - dont know how much money we're talking abt here, but if your folks send u thru legal channels, they will have to explain why the money is being sent.

I don't think this is true. As a CSR, case is assigned to you, not you choose the case. I think it's the same way to IOs. PD current cases will be assigned to IO, not IO looks into paper mountains to find case to adjust....

I just subscribed to that email list on the visa bulletin. It's possible that the people on the list received the bulletin in advance. There are thousands of people on the list. I wonder why none of us on IV subscribed to it. Also, if so many people are subscribed, how come the news is not popular by now??? So confusing....!

Best answer so far. One more thing, you can hold back some silly thing making sure you get RFE
Didn't do that(For my own personal reasons). Hoping for having enough time (1 day or two max) before my PD gets current and I send in my future wife's AOS on the first day they become current. If it gets approved, I am screwed and she has to have her own GC processing.
Also, send your application just before Aug 17th (say 15th).
I couldn't wait, because I have to attend my sister's marriage on Sep5th, so, now, I am waiting for the receipt. I am in such a bind, looks like I aged two years in 15 days :) .

TSC approving old PD I140 first and that is suffient for demand supply ratio. no approval possible with PD'2005 EB2 cases for contries like India.

I am joining with Tek systems and they don't give as permanent position in offer letter rather just said contractor.. but I am full time with my current employer.
Do you think its going to be any problem from changing Full time to Contractor?
AC21 letter - wording is very important - the offer MUST be Permanant fulltime and the prospects for future employment must also be good - this is exactly what they request in a RFE or a NOID.
If your letter says it is temporary position, you will have issues.

I know, it is unfair and frustrating. But from legal point of view, you are mixing Employment Laws with Immigration Laws.

These ppl are talking about giving amnesty to ILLEGALS...let me repeat it.. amnesty=award for being ILLEGAL. They have done that before and all of a sudden we F'KIN LEGAL TEMP WORKERS from India/China have to worry about the LEGAL aspect of filing a law-suit.
Something is seriously screwed up with this. This is no different than a pseudo-SLAVERY. Now all of a sudden most of you will say, no one put a gun on your head to work. Ofcourse not, but why hell do they create a dual intent H1FU?K Visa where they show you the carrot and create a indentured servant system and discriminate on the basis of the country of your birth. It is discrimination. Trust me when there was SLAVERY in the US , it was defined LEGAL.

it might seem like eb2 has moved.. and it has from last month...but this is where we were at in april 2006 (may2006 bulletin -1st jan 2003) before the dates stagnated for a cupl of months, became unavailable and finally moved backwards in october.
so basically no movement for 7 months.

I have not filed any AP so far. I am filing it first time now.
Now I have moved to a state which is in Nebraska Service Center's jurisdiction. So should I file my AP in NSC or in TSC?

Now the US is the richest country in the world, despite the fact that it's neither the biggest nor the most populous.
As for your questions, I cannot prove that God exist, just like you cannot prove that He does not. Either way, it's a belief. I chose to believe in God.
God is the omnipresent, omni powerful spirit who fills the universe. If you want to know more, just ask.

The immigration issues revolve around the DOL, UCCIS and DOS etc. They should grow and mature, showing efficiency and productivity. For that a new mindset is needed fortified with human resources and budget appropriations. My labor clearance was stuck in SWAs and backlog centers for 3 years. I talked to the SWA officer in charge in my state of CO. He said, this is federal work and there is no money appropriated.
Here is the showcase of how the USCIS works on legal ALIENS(from reliable Ombudsman report):
FBI Namecheck status (pg. 37 of the report)
As of May 2007, USCIS reported a staggering 329,160 FBI name check cases pending, with approximately 64 percent (211,341) of those cases pending more than 90 days and approximately 32 percent (106,738) pending more than one year. While the percentages of long-pending cases compared to last year are similar, the absolute numbers have increased. There are now 93,358 more cases pending the name check than last year. Perhaps most disturbing, there are 31,144 FBI name check cases pending more than 33 months as compared to 21,570 last year – over a 44 percent increase in the number of cases pending more than 33 months.
It is easy to see how border fence, employment verification, Border Control, DOL, FBI, USCIS will TOTALLY fail when you bring in 12 to 20 mil. I see no hope, eihter for anybody. No wonder, many are shouting at the top of their voices voicing strong objection.
