I have my Automobile and Home insurance through Amica. But they declined to give me a Life Insurance Quote because i am not a citizen or a GC holder. They are ready to insure the cars I drive and the house i live in, but not me.
I am not too happy with this scenario and i have sent an email to them asking reasons on why they cannot accept my life insurance. After all i will be paying them right. If i dont get a valid response from them i will be going to somebody who is not impartial to Resident Aliens (PPL on Visas)
May be another point to add to our Debate.
Go to know this. Has anyone experienced problems with health insurance too. Especially health insurance taken by individuals themselves rather then provided by employers?

I have been US loong enough, to count on False promises. All these indian newspapers dont know what they are publishing, particularly abt things happening in US. Till i see an official announcement from any of the US Government Website i am not counting on this.
Anyways, if they can pay me back my Social Security money it would be simply great.

Reality is DREAM act is directly connected to HISPANIC votes for Democrats, EB community doesnt have any VOTING rights, neither they get any support from the folks who are already GC/UScitizenship holders.
Once people are out of this GC mess, they all start talking about anti immigration and that's the reality, u go to any indian community around and see how much support you have from those folks who have GC/US citizenship.
Hispanic community has unity. EB Community has factured groups, each intenet on their narrow goals and aspirations. There is no use commenting on and comparing Hispanic comunity with legal community. Every illegal fights for all the illegals where as every EB immigrant fights for himself and by extension his/her group be it preference category or country category

Was this is a change in the procedures of USCIS? If yes, could we not request them to increase the length of the EAD from 1 to 5 years? This will help many of us too. I need to get my DL renewed every year along with the EAD.
Well there was court case related what constitues the 6 years where court said that only period of stay on H1b in US (so period of stay outside US on H1b) doesnt count.
So the law didnt change its the interpreation of law that was changed by the court case.
Same logic goes with H4 (they dont work on H1B ) so it was a matter of time someone would also challenge that on court and win.

Even I e-filed my AP 2 days ago (this is my first time not renewal thou). I wanted to know if I need to send 2 photographs and explanation on separate piece of paper.
Well, I also did a small mistake on the appl. I misplaced my first name and last name, I don't think this would be a problem thou...

There is a question on part 7 of AP efiling. I guess, same question is also there in paper form as well. Could somebody please explain as to what to do about this. Here is the question:-

My EB2 was rejected initially but later approved due to Sheila's evalaution of my CA degree equivalent to master's degree. I did not know her but my lawyer insisted to get it done through her. She was good for me.

No. You cannot get bachelors in india with 14 years.
The Diploma route for bachelors is this...
10+3(diploma)+3(bachelors).
For some other schools
10+3(diploma)+4(bachelors).
So in effect, the diploma route also puts you in 16 years / 17 years for Bachelors of Eng.
It might be extremely difficult to claim 14 years equivalent as US bachelors.

I got mine from Walmart, after i heard from couple of my friends. they give 6 photos for 8 bucks or something, where-as if you go to places like Walgreens or CVS.. they only give 2 photos for 8 bucks.
