So do you mean to say that this is allowed in India? I mean polygamy. I never knew that.
Muslims (around 20% minority) have this special law accepted by indian democratic government. In fact persons from muslim community can marry upto 4 wives at a time. However I haven't seen this as a common practice. Not sure if that law is changed recently. I guess No other religion is allowed to do so in india. I remember reading some cases in newspaper where people from different religion have converted just to legally marry more than one persons in india.

I think calling your university presidents and asking them to show their support for these bills would also be a very good idea.
This bill will encourage pursuit of higher education in US by foreign students in a significant way.
I think this is a good idea. All US graduates should Email or fax there University Presidents. As we know congress does listen to the education industry. All IV members graduated from US universities should contact there respective university presidents.

If you are taking a supplementary examp of one subject of your previous sumester clearly says you have not graduated on Dec 2000, but only after June 2002. I dont' think any school give away degree without completing all exams.
I have heard many such cases, people want to take advantage of EB2 and filed without meeting the requirements. But unfortunately many times they are trapped.

Good idea, but will not work since people cannot think outside the box. Most people think that if I cannot get a GC why should the guy in the next cubicle (who has a US Master's) get it. They don't realize that by taking the US Masters out of the regular queue, they would probably get their GCs faster :)

This is not the case for me....but during a discussion with my attorney and other friends contacts they said if you do not attach the medicals now you may get RFE at a later stage...which you can resolve it.
I bet any RFE can be articulated with reason by attorney if they are smart enough.
This is something I heard...but do not hold me on that. Please check with your attorney too and make a decesion.
May not be enitrely true. Medical report is part of the initial evidence now, so its better to send it with 485 application instead of relying on RFE. Also your wife is already in home country, she can get all the shots required there. best option is for her to prepone her travel if possible. yet another option is for you to go ahead and file yours first and add her later. Oh, they were about to trap me into joining them, I did an interview through them back in 2001 the client wanted to hire and when I told them I am not interested, they started forcing me, then they sent a employee to my apartment to bring me to their place, my roommate joined them and he also had a tough time, he later transferred his h1 to a middle client and after that both me and my roommate had to constantly workout strategies to get his w2s, paystubs etc.... they gave him a real tough time

On one hand we have VLD Rao crunching numbers like CRAY XMP and telling that EB2 will be close to current by End of the Year . On the other hand Mapadpa now says that the movement will be slow . I am a mere mortal and i am confused to the core on what to make of it ,

This is my first post. I worked my ass off to get a favorable
solution for retrogression during the budget bill. But as everyone knows it was defeated in the house reconcilation. I'm not being pessimistic but my gut feeling is that eventhough senate comes with something, the chances are slim that the house would agree to it. Sensenbrenners bill which house passed has no provisions for EB immigrants and backlogs. I'm pretty sure all of you are aware of Mr. Tancredo's fury against immigrants too.
Having said that I dont mean we have no way out. We have to work very very hard. We have to raise money and do some hard lobbying. But above all we have to get our employers to back this issue. With all of the above reasons I think it might be a very bad idea to guess we would have any favorable legislation in a shorter span of time. So we have to plan something for a longer period of time and execute it very diligantly, I guess.
I think Immigrationvoice is on the right path... Lets face it people!!!

EB immigrants are not a hot political issue with the House, when the illegals are. Nowhere do the house representatives, except Tancredo and the likes, voiced their opposition to expanding EB immigration and providing some sort of relief for people caught in the backlog. I believe that the immigration provisions were dropped from S.1932 just because it was a wrong bill. The pork got chopped off and this pork was too easy to compromise as there were much more important issues to fight for, like drilling in Alaska and Medicare. This bill IS about immigration issues and is about border security issues as well. The fact that Frist's bill drops the very controversial guest worker program can be considered as both a good and a bad thing. It is good since the bill will sail more smoothly through the Senate and hopefully the conference. On the other hand it is bad since Senate representatives in the conference now will not have this guest worker program to trade and drop when House reps will demand to drop something off the bill. To my understanding the way the conferences work, they need to meet somewhere in the middle in between the versions of the bill and since we have the very minimalistic bill passed by the House it is the Senate which will need to compromise and drop provisions from its bill.
But taking the guest worker program off the bill is a good start I guess.

In the previous month, EB3-INDIA date was April22nd,2001. Now it moved to May8th2001. Now, the people with PD's from April22rd2001 to May7th2001 are eligible to apply or ready for adjudication of 485. That means, probably, there are lot of 485(245i) cases to be adjudicated? What do you all think?
