The kids from the second marriage can definitely come. He can call the first wife get her the green card, then divorce her and go and marry the second wife and bring her here.
once he gets his GC (until he becomes a citizen) getting the 2nd wife over iis going to take too long, as its in FB quota, not EB. Thats one reason why many unmarried folks did not file their I-485 in July/August. If their 485 is approved before their marriage, then bringing the spouse over is real tough.

realized late that he had the expiry date wrong in his mind. So he has applied and it is > 100 days. They moved the already CPO date from Oct 10 to 29th, stating "lack of printable cards" (learned through info pass).
Imagine he is sitting at home, not working for > 3 months because he did not keep track of his expiry dates.
Because of one negligence, he is losing a lot of salary by not working. :(
The current EAD delays is certainly scary. Hope it is an exception not the norm.:mad:

My wife always reminds me this. According to her, its ok to read forums and keep yourself updates with what's going on ... but don't get to much into it, otherwise you will loose your peace of mind.

US continues to sell to Pakistan anticipating that India will also buy from US. This not only creates a dangerous situation in the region, it also forces resources away from development work. The best answer to US selling to Pakistan is, not to buy military equipment from US. Then US will not have an incentive to sell to Pakistan.
Till US stops selling equipment in the region, India should not buy anything from Boeing and Lockhead. Simple.

dint had much time to go thro' your responses. but if senior ppl are targetting this fellow( mercies) for this thread, then i beg to differ. because as a member of IV, i have been answering "hadron" posts too at immigration portal.
I think all Mercies is trying to do is help IV out, by preparing answers of such questions which stupid ppl ask, so they can be put to a stop right away. Probably he's drawing your attention to some q's that all of you have answers for, just guide mercies to that post,
but i think all of your remarks have been directed towards merices only as if he's started it all.

Exactly! I go by a different user name at Immigration Portal, and tried my best to counter hadron's posts. I only created this thread after I saw that no people in the know were countering this guy. I am a foot soldier, not an officer.
The post from rags4u is exactly what we needed. He and another IV guy is engaged in getting things under control, as I wanted.
I wonder if this person who did all this posting without reading what is posted on the site and wasted the valuable time of IV volunteers from an anti immigration group? Please do not get distracteed guys and all those people sitting ont he edge, join in and act!!
As for all of you guys who raise the scare of anti-immigrationists at the drop of the hat - go thru all of my posts, and you will find I cannot be from numbersusa. You can also check with IV's officers and they can get my name/address from my contribution check already deposited in IV's account!
Please try to counter propaganda wherever you can - that's how we will get more people to join! Efforts like mine do not waste time - they serve a purpose!

I think most of the money comes from businesses that employ these people to cut costs.
Yes true, the hispanic groups is also about 50 million in size. I'm sure these businesses are breaking some law in funding, besides employment.
There are large organizations that support our cause too, especially IT. They played a big part in positive H1 reform. Not sure if they were approached or they work independently.

Even though your PD is current now it is almost like at the end of the line at 2006. I doubt that your GC will come soon in August - Sep timeframe unless you get real lucky ( with USCIS you never know ).
EB2 jumped two years for the Aug bulletin because DOS wants USCIS to utilize all the visa numbers. There is a high probability that it will retrogress to 2004 or maybe 2005 in October and then move as per visa availability.
I didn't want to sound pessimistic just realistic.
The only option I see is what has already been told above - H1 / H4

When I immigrated to the US, I believed that this country was a meritocracy where you were judged based on your abilities and qualities. These country based quotas reward people depending on where they or their ancestors were born. This causes people from India and China to wait over a decade to get a green card whereas someone from another country with similar or lesser abilities can obtain permanent residence in a very short time (about an year).
Since these EB category based green cards are awarded for professional skills, imposing a country based quota just does not make any sense. I urge you to work with Congress and change this unfair policy and reinforce that America is truly a society that celebrates meritocracy.

Who said the worries stop at GC? When I am on H1, my family could able to go and come back from my home country when ever they want. There was no restriction on how many days they need to stay in US to keep their status valid. Their H4 status is valid as long as I retain my H1.
Now after GC, they are mandated to be present in US for 6 months in a year to retain their GC irrespective of my status and they are not happy about it :(
Some may question what am I doing in IV after GC? Visiting IV is a habit for me and I will be depressed if I don't visit IV for a day :D. I also provide some useful information regarding various immigration issues by learning and passing it on to my friends and relatives and encourage them to come and visit IV by promoting it.
Anyway I am struck to IV even after I got my GC. I hope many fellow IV's will do the same to bring many people who seek immigration under IV :)

First thing is that your employer most likely will not send you a legal notice, as it would cause significant time and money for his already depleted financial resources. Even if he does, if such a legal notice is in an email, just ignore it. DO NOT RESPOND.
If it is in your regular mail/UPS/FED EX/Certified mail (most likely), you should consult your new company's attorney and seek legal help. In any case, as long as you have all your eggs in order, you will be fine.
