I have nothing more to say guys. what some people are saying is logic and what i'm saying is the fact.
Anyway, My lawyer used the PERM. right after i received my Labor I had to renew my H1b which took 6 months (regular processing). After i received my renewal I sent my I-140 application. I didn't even bother to use the premium processing for my i140 because the i485 was not current that time, instead it way way back as a EB3. anyway, you know the rest of the story.....
Shimul999 may not be trying to play or may be doing so, only Shimul999 knows. But there are legitimate observations such as below (Assuming s/he provided all information for his/her case correctly) can lead any person like VKKKK to believe that.
1) He is claiming labor filed in Feb 06 and he got approval in May 06 (As per
his signature). Now if his file is in BEC this would not have happened so it is
safe to assume that either he might have used substitution labor OR his file
is filed in PERM. Now Feb 06 was the initial stage of PERM and during that
period there were lot many software glitches in the PERM system so many
lawyers were almost hesitant to file under PERM. But assuming that his
lawyer took decision to file under PERM, end to end process was almost 4
months for PERM so either his file was reached before Feb 06 then only he
could have labor approval in May 06. So there is definately something
wrong there.
2) If my labor is approved in May 06 why would I wait to file I-140 till Feb 07
(His signature)?
Now 1st point, considering Shimul lucky even that time one can assume it might have happened. For second point one can assume any reason for that long wait so it is not necessary that by looking to these both points we can fairly say that s/he is not representing the fact. It can be a fact and in that case s/he deserves our congratulations.

often times i have noticed that the blissfully ignorant GC applicants come better off than rest of us- who act like chicken with the head cut off after every bad news!!! may be they dont worry too much and look at it from a whole another perspective...who knows...i wish i could be one of those, but i am too far in the game...damage is already done...:D

EB3 discrimination is quite blatant. Folks with a date of March 2004 should be automatically considered EB2 based on five year experience. This is not just for EB3-I or EB2-I but for all chargeabilities.
That will require a change of law. Current law is based on qualification for the job, not that of candidate filling that job. If I am a PhD, but an employer needs a tool cleaner, which I am willing to accept, I'll be sponsored for whatever category the tool cleaner position falls in.
If someone has gained 5 yrs experience waiting for on EB3, and wants to move to EB2, he/she will need to look for a job/sponsorship which requires 5 yrs experience. It is that simple. Lot of people do that...and retain their original PD. Isn't it a nice thing?

You cannot keep GC out of equation when GC/non-GC decides your ability to get unemployment benefits, choice of jobs and many more aspects of your life.
If you leave the country, you lose the equity on the house. I don't know when you bought
the house. In the post credit bubble period, the lender will make sure you have enough equity that they are secure and you have skin in the game.
Bought my home in early 2008 on 100% financing (yeah, they had these crazy schemes back then!) before the economy tanked. So I havent put down any money. Even the closing costs were paid by the seller. For me its not an investment, but a place to live. So I am not worried about the equity. The home isnt a McMansion and the mortgage payment is manageable. When tax savings at year end are considered, it almost puts me on par with renting.
On the other hand, I dont put GC on a pedestal. I bought my home even before I had started GC process. To me it is not a life changing event like the day I was born or my wedding day or the birth day of my kid. Its something good to have for obvious benefits, but I am not holding my breath until I get it. Once again, I reiter that factoring GC into your decisions is a personal choice, and I dont do it. I am not banking on unemployment benefits or any other govt dole. Like I said, if anything were to go wrong and I had to leave the country for good, my lender will be the one taking the hit. After decades of seperatists and Liberals dominating Quebec, they had had enough and now they are the official opposition after ten years.
For political change in the US, we have a handicap which is that we are not citizens. (Desipite this IV seems to do well.) But as an Indian, you have much more clout in India if you organize. Use the 'net as IV does. And corruption is never popular with the people who do not benefit (most of us).

Why do we even have to ask about Jul 2nd acceptance. I feel if you ask them they deliberately try to misguide you. Isnt the day Jul 2 a part of July month?? Since the previous July bulletin has be reinstated, in fact people who filed on Jul 2 should be at the top of the list in terms of getting receipt notices etc...

Send her application in the day ur PD becomes current (it may take many years unless congress passes some law) it is highly unlikely that they will approve ur application in one day. PD is Mar 2005
EB is EB3.
I-140 applied in Mar 13, 2007 (not approved yet).

I feel so sorry for the poor guy and their family. After all the hard work in life, he didn't deserve to die like this.
Folks, please be extra cautious when you get into in your car.
1) Always check the rear seat before getting in your car. A crook might be hiding there.
2) When you get inside a car that is parked in a building ( with insufficient lighting or no people around), immediately lock the door. Thats the first thing you have to do, and then arrange the shopping bag or item that are in your hand.
3) If some stranger is approaching you, be cautious, no matter how 'friendly' he looks. Think fast and look for exit signs and plan an exit run, should the need arise.
4) I read long time ago, if in the worst case, say a carjacker who gained access inside your car and hiding in the back seat. And if you have not noticed anything and you just started the vehicle and are about to go, he puts a knife of gun and asks directs you to drive his way, then, JUST SPEED UP STRAIGHT AND HIT THE WALL OR PILAR AS FAST AS YOU CAN. The air bag would protect you after the collision, but the passenger(carjacker) would be thrown out or would have sever body injuries. You would have enough time to escape with minor injuries.
5) Take precautions and don't loiter in areas that you not familiar with.
Be safe, folks!!!

I always loved this board for what it does - especially the Gurus who always spend their precious time giving input to member's queries. Well... this is not query. I just want to vent my frustration, helplessness to fellow friends in this board. In spite of graduating from a reputed univ with a Masters and very good GPA and also having 7 years of professional experience, I am bound to be a slave to my current Employer without any promotions, career growth or anything remote to that for next (God knows how many Decades) several years. ppl who are junior to me in every aspect are growing left and right and are also getting brighter opportunities. I dont care if you guys think I am jealous of them.... But does God really exist ? sorry for wasting your time with this depressing note. I guess there is a limit to how unlucky I can be !! call me a cry baby but I am one real unlucky individual !

Trust me my friend, I have seen it happen all the time, from large Telecom firm to Govt., its always there, most of the consultants just doesn't come to know about it, but the cut for the managers is there in some form, almost always. Why do each manager has a specific vendor through whom they want to hire most of the time? What else is the reason for the client to pay the consulting company $180/hr but they won't give 'valueablehurdle' anything more than $50-60/hr?
On a different note, now that NSG approved the waiver, most desi uncles, some of them are also owners of desi consulting companies will claim that they are the father of Nuclear deal. These bastards (sorry for my french) always oppose any GC fix and they tell their favorite congressman/senator (each has atleast one favorite politician for whom they do fund raisers) that gc backlog is not an important issue for the community. India Abroad, Times of India, rediff and other desi portals/newspapers will write 'Oliver North' style stories about these desi uncles knowing well that companies like GE etc put their weight behind the deal as it will create commerce to commerce over $20 billion/yr. But desi uncles/orgs will not stop claiming to be the father of nuclear deal. The fact is, most of these desi uncles made noise not because they wanted to do something for their country of birth, they are doing it because they think that if the nuclear deal passes, they can play middle man for US companies to sell the technology/material to Indian companies/govt. Most of the so called 'united voice of Indian-Americans on the Hill' organization's goal is to make big bucks by playing 'middle man' for companies wanting to sell technology to India. And as always, just as 'valuablehurdle''s client (paying $180/hr) Indian govt. will pay double the cost. These desi companies have squeezed blood of people waiting for gc, but now they think its time to move on to play big game with the big boys.
