current count 260.Great job everyone.I was chatting with few friends casually and mentioned this. Four of them also have voted. If we can hit 300 by end of the day today, that will be pretty impressive. As someone said, even though this might seem very insignificant but spending 3-4 minutes is definitely not going to hurt us.

-What is the minimum period that one need to work with the employer who has sponsered the GC after receiving the GC?
-Can the leave of absence be counted in this period?
-If you leave immediately (with a month) after GC, can the employer fill for revoking or mistrust for I485?

What I know about America that if you don't have money, hospitals are supposed to take care, if you have money, hospital will squeeze every penny.
Once I spent over a month trying to find solution: Could not get: for a female it seems to be mandatory having maternity insurance otherwise, after pregnancy, no one insures.
I thinks people lack information in this context, so you are not getting responses.

Even as it stands RIGHT NOW without the "New AC21 Rules", you cannot use AC21 unless your I-140 is approved. The basic principle of AC21 is "If your I-140 is APPROVED AND your I-485 application has been pending for more than 180 days" you can switch jobs and not lose anything.

Just imagine what will happen to the market flooded with EADs. Job market for H1Bs will totally be down. No US companies will hire H1Bs if they get somebody with an EAD. Tonnes of Junior developers and S/W testers will in the market driving the billing rates down even further. It's better to pack up and leave. I have heard from one of the forums here that an estimated 500K people will file this month since all PDs are current. EB-3 mexico + phillipines togther alone will be close to 300K. God help the Job market.
Also minimum wait time will be 500K/140K ~ 4 yrs before they get to process your GC. Add to that the time for namecheck backlog 2+ yrs. So total 6+ yrs before getting GC........

My GC application is buried somewhere, had a vey bad week at work with piling up workload and closing on deadlines, my child as a cold, my neighbor's dog has an infection that shows up smelling foul in my front porch, it is going to snow and rain this weekend, May visa bulletin is released, EB-2 India has not moved up; topping all these there are some nimcompoohs here fighting out in a public forum about how incapable we all are to change the federal laws! God, have some mercy. Give some time to IV moderators and me some power to permanently ban these people to write to any immigration forums I read. At least give me my GC soon so I don't visit IV as often I do now and come across these kinds.
As two of the more senior members on this forum, please set a good example for others...not this.

Things like legislative changes take time. We may think that the debate on illegal immigration has nothing to do with our issues but the corrupt Senators will always try to sneak in some reform related to illegal immigrants into our bills in exchange for their votes, ultimately derailing the entire bill.
Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about go to the rally, actions items, I've reading a lot of guys saying dont ask for your receipt status, dont waste your time etc, etc.
Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?
I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............

Even if you paid cash, probably should have withdrawn from bank. And you should be having that bank withdrawl slip or you can go online to get a copy of your bank statement, which shows that you have withdrawn that amount - this is just a proof.
Now call your employer to refund all your money with interest and the loss that you incured for working all these years and the opportunity that you have lost for not filing I 485, else you would file a case agains him with police and FBI for taking cash as this would not provide any proof for filing labor and not filing I 485.
Now you threaten that you would file a suit against him, give all kinds of threats to these A**H***S. sorry could not control my words.

Folks, can dependent's participate in writing letters to President? I have already mailed my hand written letter to White House and copy to IV team, in addition to that I got confirmation from other Indians with whom I work also mailed their letters..If dependents are also allowed then count for another 10 letters from my side...;)

We just received news that the Judiciary Committee hearings which were supposed to run until 1.00 pm today and also tomorrow have been postponed to March 27th. Apparently the deal is that the Judiciary Committee wants to put pressure on Senator Frist so that he does not introduce his version of the bill bypassing the committee...
Will update as soon as we hear more...
